Created by Steve Bruno, Blending is an independent film that merges different media and technologies, combining 8mm and 16mm film, 35mm and 120mm still photography, and digital 3D images that I developed using photogrammetry and LiDAR scanning.

For the photogrammetry sections, some scenes were captured in hundreds of photographs taken from many different angles. Over the course of a few weeks, I processed that material into 3D objects that could be animated like moments suspended in time.

For the LiDAR work, I developed a custom technique for storing the raw image data from short 3D takes recorded with a Kinect. From that material, it became possible to build point clouds and move through them using impossible camera angles.
